The Hancock County Public Library’s Lewisport branch will be closed as we transition to our new building. Our Hawesville location, however, will remain open. The Hancock County Public Library has resumed normal hours after a period of operating on a reduced schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Weather may affect library’s operating hours

When the weather is threatening or the roads are hazardous, the library may close early, open late, or may not open at all. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause, but the safety of our patrons and the library staff is too important to jeopardize.  Contact us before visiting on days when weather is questionable. 

Look for your library newsletter in the mail

Hancock County Public Library provides a newsletter several times a year to everyone in Hancock County that receives mail. The newsletter is delivered to your home mailbox or your post office box in January, April, June, and September.
