Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library are volunteers who support the library through many different avenues, these include: book sales, fundraisers, author visits/book signings, Community Wide Egg Hunt with the Hawesville Lion’s Club, Pictures with Santa, a booth at the Hancock County Fair,  summer reading, and the purchase of some items for the libraries’ collection.

We also support our library staff & board with recognitions throughout the year and provide a donation toward give-away items for public events. Our funding comes from the annual membership fees and the book sale.

Being a member of the Friends of the Library does not require lots of time spent in meetings, but there are numerous activities that can benefit from your assistance. Being a friend is a way to show your support of the library and all of its services while having fun with our various activities!

The Friends membership drive is in April each year, but you can join Friends of the Library any time! Yearly fees are as follows: Individual – $5; Family – $10; Patron – $25 and Business – $100.

We encourage local businesses to find out more about the Friends of the Library and join us with your financial support and assistance by becoming part of this wonderful group!
